Are you passionate about inspiring curiosity in young minds?
Do you believe in the power of science to shape confident, compassionate global citizens?
Are you ready to join a team where courtesy, commitment, courage, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do?
Join Thomas Deacon Academy as a Science Teacher and help shape the future.

Your role:
As a Science Teacher at Thomas Deacon Academy, you will deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that challenge and support every learner to reach their full potential. Whether you're an Early Career Teacher eager to grow or an experienced educator ready for your next challenge, this role offers the opportunity to thrive in a large, diverse and supportive department with plenty of opportunities for development. You’ll be part of a team that values curiosity and creativity, and where your ideas and enthusiasm will be welcomed and nurtured.

We are looking for someone with a strong subject knowledge, a commitment to inclusive and effective teaching, and the confidence to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and ideally Key Stage 5). You’ll be supported by a collaborative team and a leadership structure that prioritises professional growth and wellbeing.

About us:
At Thomas Deacon Academy, we are committed to ensuring every student acquires the knowledge, skills and character to thrive as a global citizen. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking academy that values innovation, professional development, and a strong sense of community. With access to excellent facilities, a comprehensive CPD programme, and a culture built on respect and ambition, this is a place where you can truly make a difference.

The Academy’s recent Ofsted inspection in November 2024 noted that “pupils benefit from a welcoming environment where diversity is celebrated. They enjoy celebrating each other’s differences and participating in cultural activities. The school provides an ambitious curriculum that ensures pupils develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills from Year 3 through to Year 13, preparing them well for their next stage of education or employment. The Ofsted inspection rated all areas, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth-form provision, as 'Good'”.

At Thomas Deacon Academy, we believe in the power of courtesy, commitment, compassion, courage, curiosity, and confidence. These values are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for someone who embodies them in their work.
