£12.35 -£13.18 per hour depending on
experience. 25-27.5 hours per week,
Monday to Friday, 9.30am -2.30/3pm
50 weeks per annum (pre-school is closed 13/8/26
28/8/26). Permanent contract with holiday allowance during term times approx. 12 days).
Annual leave allowance to also be used during 1 week at Christmas (w/c 22/12/25) and 1
week at Easter (13/4/26) and bank holidays.
Pro rata wage depending on hours approx. £1372 - £1420 pcm gross Sept25-aug26

Job Description: Green Shoots is an Early Years setting with a strong focus on offering
children healthy activities, healthy snacks and lunches and healthy choices in their early
years development. We are looking for an enthusiastic cook/chef who is interested in
preparing fresh hot meals for up to 28 pre-school children and 7 staff. Our kitchen has a
hatch window linking to the main pre-school room, we believe that mealtimes, food
preparation and cooking should be shared with young children and as our pre-school
chef/cook we would welcome you into our community and value your skills. If you would
enjoy working in a friendly team environment where children look up to you as their pre
school chef, then this could be the job for you. This is a great opportunity for the right
candidate.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Valid level 2/3 Food Safety Certificate (easily obtained online)
• Job related experience
