To ensure that at all times patient safety remains paramount and that safe systems of work are adhered to regarding wheelchairs, clamps, seat belts etc. At all times follow Organisational Standing Operational procedures for the collection, transport and handover of patients To ensure that appropriate lifting and handling techniques are applied as per training when moving patients under non-emergency conditions, using appropriate equipment where necessary. Carry out risk assessments to assess hazards, then implement safe systems of work and reduce risks to yourself, patients and other persons involved Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed according to current policies and procedures In the event of an incident administer first aid commensurate to training Report facts concerning accidents or incidents to you line manager Where patient report forms are required these must be completed in accordance with the companys Patient Report Form Policy. Responsible for vehicle upkeep, cleanliness and maintenance. Ensure all safety checks are carried out. To undertake and complete appropriate induction and core skill training as required to facilitate the correct level of care to the patients whilst in the care of the post holder, Conflict Management, Manual Handling, Child Protection, Safeguarding, Health and Safety etc. Minimise and deal with aggressive and abusive behaviour to reduce risks to safety and ensure patient welfare Ensure the use of appropriate equipment and approved manual handling techniques Assist patients when entering and leaving their homes and take all reasonable actions to ensure the safety and security of their property. Upon arrival at the place of treatment, convey patients to the appropriate location within the building as directed. To be flexible on a daily basis in relation to shift finishing times. Maintain records as appropriate. Comply with all Company instructions, procedures, guidelines, protocols, policies and relevant systems and adhere to all statutory legislation.
