More detail about the role Working with the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, the main areas of responsibility are multidisciplinary training, education and competency assessment, developing and implementing policies and guidelines based on national standards, clinical audit, governance, incident reporting and investigations. We are looking for a proactive person who likes to hit the ground running. We require candidates to have post-registration clinical experience in the acute setting. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Hospital Transfusion Team (HTT) and Patient Blood Management Group (PBMG) with haemovigilance and safe transfusion practice in accordance with the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations (BSQR) being key aspects. You will be expected to work closely with laboratory and clinical staff to promote the appropriate and cost-effective use of blood components and products within the Trust ensuring that patient care needs are met accordingly. In addition, you will be required to become a subject matter expert, delivering training to all staff groups involved in intravascular therapy and provide support in clinical practice ensuring patient's fluid management needs are met effectively. The Nurse Specialist will be based at the North Devon District Hospital and provide specialist knowledge and expertise within the Trust and the wider Northern healthcare community. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date.
