The Housekeeping Department at Royal Bournemouth Hospital are looking to employ permanent Waste Operatives.
As a waste operative you will be responsible for collecting/sorting/transporting of general waste, clinical waste, soiled linen, recycling, cardboard and SHARP’s containers externally and internally at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The job role includes responsibility for the compacting of waste, compacting/ baling cardboard and removal of soiled linen.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of waste collection, transportation of waste and usage of machinery for the collection and disposal of waste.
You will work with a team who will safely collect, sort and dispose of clinical waste, general waste, recycling materials and soiled linen.
You will have excellent team working skills and the ability to prioritise workload under the guidance of the supervisory team. You will be self-motivated, with a hands-on approach and able to work under pressure in all weather conditions to deliver excellent service delivery.
A full UK driving license or EC/EEA equivalent is essential for this role. Full training will be provided.
Some flexibility on working hours will be required to ensure service delivery to the hospital.
