Are you an enthusiastic and inspiring Modern Foreign Languages teacher with a particular passion for French?
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a vibrant and successful independent school in the Wokingham area. We are seeking a dedicated MFL specialist to primarily teach French across different year groups, fostering a love for languages and cultural understanding in our students.
Role: Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Mainly French)
Location: Wokingham, Berkshire
Contract: Full-time (Permanent or Fixed-Term considered for the right candidate)
Salary: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications (paid according to the school's own scale, which is benchmarked against national scales)
About the Role:
As a key member of our Languages department, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective French lessons to students of varying abilities. There may also be opportunities to teach another language depending on your skillset and school needs. You will play a vital role in curriculum development, creating a stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their linguistic talents and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality French lessons that are engaging, challenging, and tailored to student needs.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and a love of languages.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole-school events.
- Support the wider school community and its ethos.
About You:
- A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in French or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching French successfully, ideally within a UK school setting.
- The ability to teach another language (e.g., Spanish or German) would be an advantage but is not essential.
- A genuine passion for languages and an ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
