Location: Southend-on-Sea (with flexible working arrangements)

Salary: £45,000 per annum | Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Are you a passionate social care leader with a vision for person-centred, family-based support?

Newcross Healthcare is seeking an experienced Shared Lives Manager to lead and grow our client's Shared Lives scheme, which enables people with care and support needs to live as independently as possible in welcoming family environments.

What You'll Be Doing

As Shared Lives Manager, you'll oversee the strategic and operational delivery of a high-quality Shared Lives service. You will:

• Lead, develop and manage a team of Shared Lives social workers and carers.
• Ensure placements are safe, suitable, and person-centred-meeting the needs and aspirations of those we support.
• Promote continuous quality improvement aligned with CQC standards, best practice, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee robust risk assessments and carer approvals prior to placement.
• Monitor care plans, performance, and health & safety in both service and home-based settings.
• Facilitate carer and service user engagement forums to promote feedback and growth.
• Work closely with finance, quality improvement and commissioning teams to manage budgets and develop annual service plans.
• Drive recruitment, training, and development of Shared Lives carers.
• Handle complaints and incidents with professionalism, ensuring learning and improvement.
• Promote safeguarding and uphold the rights, privacy, and dignity of every individual.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Social Worker (required)
• Management qualification suitable for CQC registered manager status (preferred)
• Proven leadership in adult social care, ideally with experience in Shared Lives
• A thorough understanding of the Care Act, safeguarding, DoLS, and person-centred care
• Strong financial, strategic and people management skills
• Able to travel locally and work flexibly, including occasional weekends or out-of-hours support

Why Join Newcross Healthcare?

This is your opportunity to shape a meaningful, community-rooted care service that changes lives. At Newcross, we are committed to empowering our teams to deliver care we'd want for our own families-driven by compassion, innovation, and accountability.
