Due to our continued success and business growth, we are looking for a Transport Administrator to join the Wincanton team at our brand-new Scotland Gateway facility.

Day to Day

  • Responsible for the daily execution of the transport schedule to ensure all collections are made on time and in full, chasing any outstanding collections where appropriate.
  • Completing all transport paperwork alongside general administrative duties in line with transport legislation and company policies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries, communicating any changes to the schedules ensuring any changes are logged accurately.
  • Collaborate with other departments & sites to achieve the most effective loading schedules.
  • Working closely with the planning department to communicate any delays, lateness or any other issues.
  • Managing drivers’ hours, infringements, and control of tachographs in line with transport legislation as well as sub-contraction requirements.
  • Assist with the management of vehicle defects through the VOR process.
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with the Transport Management team in order to best support the operation.
  • Collation of information to support KPI reporting.

What will you bring?

  • Previous experience in a transport administration role would be advantageous but full training will be provided.

  • Previous experience working with a transport management system.

  • Excellent communication skills able to work with customers, suppliers and colleagues across multiple departments working as a team.

  • Remains calm under pressure with a flexible and positive attitude.

  • Confident with the ability to work on own initiative and make decisions.

  • Strong IT skills with the ability to pick up new systems.

  • Knowledge of drivers hours and working time directive would be an advantage.
