Are you passionate about improving housing standards and supporting your local community?
Join our dedicated Private Sector Housing Team as a Housing Survey and Licensing Support Officer and play a vital role in ensuring safe and high-quality housing for all our residents.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support our enforcement team in tackling substandard housing and managing the licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).

As a Housing Survey and Licensing Support Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining housing standards across the borough.

This role involves participating in housing surveys, investigating complaints—particularly those related to vacant properties and drainage—and maintaining accurate records of vacant homes across the Borough. You will liaise with property owners to encourage renovation and reuse, assist in prioritising enforcement actions, and inspect mobile home sites to ensure compliance with licensing conditions. The successful candidate will also support broader enforcement initiatives and help uphold the council’s policies and legal responsibilities.
