Are you looking to be part of a close-knit, progressive team of farm vets who are genuinely raising the bar in dairy vetting? This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice that delivers outstanding expertise and guidance to a loyal and growing base of farming clients.
My client is looking for someone ambitious and curious, keen to learn from a team of experienced clinicians while also developing their own specialisms through both training and hands-on work. They’re seeking a vet who’s excited to bring fresh thinking and ideas to the table, with a collaborative mindset that strengthens the practice’s shared knowledge and service delivery.
You’ll be based in a picturesque market town in Shropshire—steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful countryside. With its warm, welcoming community and great access to both rural charm and local attractions, this is a place where work-life balance genuinely matters.
Founded in 1999 as the first UK practice to focus exclusively on farm animals, this business has grown steadily through a reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, and integrity. Now operating across multiple sites with over 30 vets, they support clients throughout Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, and North Wales. Their growth hasn’t compromised their core values: positivity, proactivity, empathy, and a real sense of team. Their work is underpinned by strong client relationships, an open and supportive internal culture, and a commitment to both animal and farmer wellbeing.
The team includes a range of clinical expertise, including senior farm vets, TB vets, vet techs, embryo transfer specialists, and skilled support staff. They value people who want to connect with farmers, share their knowledge, and contribute meaningfully during routine dairy herd health visits. A working knowledge of cattle reproduction and ultrasound will help you hit the ground running and build rapport from day one.
This role suits someone with at least two years of farm vetting experience, confident handling out-of-hours cases and emergency work. You'll join a 1 in 10 rota, working alongside a supportive team where shared learning and communication are central. A solid base in surgery, calm under pressure, and keen to contribute in all aspects of the practice—those are the qualities that will see you thrive here.
The practice is also involved in teaching, training, AI and embryo transfer, product and germplasm export, and is always keen to support vets exploring these areas. Whether you’re looking to specialise, lead projects, or expand your skills beyond the norm, this is a great place to do it.
If this sounds like a role that aligns with your ambitions and values, let’s talk. If you're enthusiastic, enjoy working collaboratively, and are always ready to roll up your sleeves and problem-solve, I’d love to hear from you.
The Package:
Attractive salary up to £60,000 DOE
