Summary
• Toprovidespecialistassessment,diagnosisandtreatmentofpatientswithcomplex Physiotherapy problems as an autonomous practitioner within clinical speciality area.
• Toundertakelinemanagementresponsibilityforstaff,withintheserviceareato provide a responsive and effective service.
• ToactivelysupporttheTeamLeaderintheoperationalmanagementoftheareaand service developments on a local and/or service-wide level.
• Toprovideclinicaleducationandtraining.
• To haveresponsibilityforspecificprojectsorinitiativescontributingtotheoverall delivery of the service within a clinical speciality area.
• Toprovidehealtheducation,healthpromotionandpreventionadvice.
• To provide specialist physiotherapy assessments over a range of conditions and complexities using advanced clinicalreasoningto analyseclinicalandnon-clinicalfindingstoform accuratephysiotherapy diagnoses and prognoses.
• Toformulateandrecommendtoothersthebestcourseofphysiotherapyinterventionand/ortreatment programmes to meet the agreed goals set with the individual patient/or carer, using evidence based practice and a wide range of treatment skills and options.
• Toevaluatepatientprogress,reviewgoalsettingandaltertreatmentprogrammesasrequired.
• Tousearangeofverbalandnon-verbalcommunicationmethodstocommunicateeffectivelywith patients and carers to maximise rehabilitation potential.
• Toovercomebarrierstoappropriaterehabilitation,includingcommunicationdifficulties,anxietyormotivation.
• Toensurethatpatient’sprivacyanddignityarerespectedatalltimes
