As part of our growing Engineering family, we are looking for a Fabric Engineer/ Handyperon to provide a building fabric maintenance and repairs service. The role sits within our facility supporting the landlords services to a very large commercial office complex based in Portsmouth.
You will be responsible for delivering a building fabric service such as minor plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, and patch repairs. Ideally you will have worked in the building services sector, or similar, with basic electrical and/or plumbing skills as you will be carrying out fabric repairs. Key responsibilities will include ensuring that all services/facilities (eg heating, lighting, toilets) are available to the clients tenants during core working hours, as well as working with the team to undertake maintenance and repairs tasks. You should be physically fit as the role does involve some manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces.
You will keep the clients updated with any developments, recording all activities, remedial works, inspection logs etc and ensure a high level of customer service and will need good verbal and written communication and comfortable working with IT to record your tasks and updates,
The ideal candidate would have a background in facilities management, a trade scheme or served experience.
