Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Network Permit Officer (Street Works Inspector) - Technical to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with street works regulations and standards within the network. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in managing permits for road excavations and other street works activities, ensuring that they meet all necessary legal and technical requirements. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive knowledge of the latest street works regulations, traffic management, and health and safety guidelines. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including contractors, utility companies, and local authorities, to facilitate smooth operations while minimizing disruption to the public. Additionally, you will be tasked with conducting site inspections, monitoring ongoing work, and ensuring that all activities adhere to the approved plans and protocols. Your ability to communicate effectively and provide technical guidance will contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of our infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
Review and process applications for street works permits in accordance with established regulations.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with permits, specifications, and safety regulations.
Monitor the progress of street works projects to ensure adherence to approved plans and timelines.
Collaborate with contractors, utility companies, and local authorities to resolve issues and facilitate smooth operations.
Prepare detailed reports on inspections, findings, and recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.
Advise stakeholders on best practices and compliance requirements related to street works and temporary traffic management.
Maintain accurate records of permits issued, inspections completed, and any enforcement actions taken.
Requirements
Proven experience in street works inspection or related field, preferably in a municipal or regulatory environment.
Strong knowledge of street works regulations, safety standards, and traffic management practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to conduct detailed site inspections and evaluate compliance with technical specifications.
Proficient in report writing and documentation of inspections and findings.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with relevant software tools and technologies used in project management and inspections.
