Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies is a nationally recognised, high-performing NHS Talking Therapies service, supporting around 10,000 adults every year to manage anxiety and depression. Our service has over 200 staff including PWPs, clinical and counselling psychologists, CBT therapists, referral coordinators, employment advisors, managers and administrators. Our main bases are in High Wycombe in the south and Aylesbury in the north of the county. We offer flexible working arrangements. Staff wellbeing is a top priority for us. We have a very active, award winning, wellbeing team within the service and work hard to ensure that a supportive, collaborative and productive culture is in place. You will have responsibility for ensuring the delivery of specific aspects of the service requiring the expertise of a clinical psychologist. This may include supervising, line managing and coordinating the clinical and research work of attached doctoral trainees and assistant psychologists. You will also hold your own clinical caseload. You should be able to demonstrate use of evidence-based practice, preferably in a primary care setting. BABCP accreditation is desirable or you can work towards obtaining this during your first year in post.We also welcome applications from Clinical Psychologists who are either recently qualified or due to qualify in Autumn 2025 who can be appointed to a band 7 development post. The development post (previously known as a preceptorship) provides an opportunity for newly qualified Clinical Psychologists to be supported to develop their skills across the core dimensions of therapy, supervision, team work and leadership, with a view to being eligible for future promotion to the 8a post in the service. Oxford Health NHS FT has a strong track record for supporting the development of psychological therapists. The Trust has two Talking Therapies services, a range of specialist psychological therapy services and employs over 1000 psychological therapists. The Trust hosts the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology. Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies is actively involved in research, participating in local and national studies. The service benefits from being a member of the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire Talking Therapies Clinical Network led by Professor David Clark. Please note if you are based outside of the UK you will need to hold HCPC registration in order to be considered for this role.
