Crynodeb

The yard has around 40 horses, including BS-affiliated show jumpers, Royal Navy and GB Modern Pentathlon schoolmasters, and full liveries. They are seeking an individual to help with general yard duties and the management of the horses. This includes, not exclusively:

Bringing-in and turning-out
Feeding
Tacking-up for / washing-off after lessons
Mucking-out and bedding-down
Yard, tack and equipment care
Exercising the horses (optional)
Competition and show preparation, travel, groomingAccommodation is available on site free of charge, with food included.
There is the opportunity to bring your own horse to keep in livery on site, this would be at the cost of £100 per week.
The apprenticeship is based on site full time so no need to be sitting in a classroom. If you did not gain your Maths & English GCSE's at school we can support you to do this whilst on programme.
You must be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years to apply for this role. If you hold a L3 Equine qualification already you are unable to apply for this role.
The interview will consist of a trial day at the yard.

Training
All training will be provided on
site during your paid working hours.
Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination
of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training
Trainer Coach.

Qualifications required
A GCSE or equivalent pass in English
and maths is beneficial but not essential.
If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your
Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.

Skills required
We do need someone with at least a basic understanding of horses and with general yard skills.
An ideal candidate would also have basic riding skills that seeks to improve in our very supportive environment.
