An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice within the Audiology department at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will undertake a 30-month Apprenticeship at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. They must be motivated with excellent communication skills, committed to providing a high standard of care and have an ability to work within a team. They will be expected to become competent in a wide range of diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology procedures including hearing tests and the fitting of hearing aids.
You'll complete a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology at De Montfort University, with learning carried out in block weeks at the university, with the majority of time spent in the Audiology departments at Kings Mill and Newark Hospitals, consolidating their knowledge and practical skills.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will be eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council with the possibility of further study at BSc level.

In order to undertake the Foundation Degree the candidate must;
• Be aged 18 years or above on entry to the programme.
• Have GCSE Grade C or grade 4 in Maths, English or Level 2 equivalence prior to applying for HCPC registration and before the End Point Assessment.
• 32 UCAS points from at least one science A level or equivalent (alternative relevant educational experience will be considered for mature students).
• Have a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) status or equivalent.
• Be in sufficiently good mental and physical health to be able to practise without risk to yourself or others.
• Have the right to work in England, and have resided in the UK for at least 3-years prior to the programme start date.
