What skills and experience we're looking for

The person appointed will have an excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, a good understanding of safeguarding, be able to undertake maintenance tasks, and be responsible for the security of the site. Working under an experienced site manager, a full package of induction and training will be provided.

The Role:

We are looking for a Site Assistant who will maintain the school site to a high standard and assist the site staff in the smooth running of the school.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the school site ensuring a high standard throughout. Experience of working independently and in a team is an essential part of the role; as is working in adverse weather conditions.

The Site Assistant will work within a dynamic and proactive team, under the guidance of the Site Manager. Working as the Site Assistant your day-to-day duties could include:

Unlocking/locking up the schoolKey holding and emergency responseEnsuring rooms are set up for examsDay-to-day maintenanceAd-hoc cleaningGrounds worksHealth and safety checks (full training given)Using a computerised system for logging jobs and record keeping

As a Site Assistant specific trade strengths in any area would be an advantage but not essential. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job. You will need to ability to remain calm under pressure and have a flexible and open attitude.

37 Hours per Week, 52 Weeks per year on a rotating shift pattern which can include early mornings, days, evenings.
