About the role of Head of Estimating
Our client is a leading construction and development company with a focus of delivering high-quality projects on time within budget. With a proven track record spanning decades, our client has established itself as a trusted partner in the industry.
The responsibilities of the Head of Estimating
- Contribution to the generation of tenders, proposing costs and estimate resources for Commercial & Housing projects
- Take full control of the Tender Enquiry
- Participation in the winning of contracts while minimising risk and maximising profit by estimating the costs for tenders, negotiating with suppliers (through the Purchase manager) and subcontracts, and supporting value engineering.
- Contribute to the process of preparing, validating, adjudication, and final submission of tenders. This includes minimising any subcontractor and material costs, communicating with external design, planning, commercial and management.
- Estimate costs to meet or exceed customer requirements, including obtaining and negotiating quotes all assisted & accompanied by management team.
- Build and retain commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors during the tender and fulfilment process.
Requirements for Head of Estimating
- NEC contract experience
- You will be experienced with good technical civil engineering knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards
- Excellent research, proposal writing and oral presentation skills
