Salary: £13.05-£13.26 per hour, BG6 £22,023-£22,373 per year (FTE £25,183-£25,584)Location: Nova Primary School
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours; Monday-Friday; with half an hour unpaid break each day
Working Pattern: Monday-Thursday - 08.15am-4.15pm (We can be flexible around the working hours for Mon-Thurs for the right candidate). Friday 08.30am-4.15pm; Term Time and Inset Days.Responsible to: School Business Manager/Lead Learning MentorAbout the Role
Nova Primary School is seeking a highly organised and dedicated Office and Attendance Administrator to join our team. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our school’s administrative and attendance functions. You will act as the first point of contact for parents and visitors, help maintain meticulous attendance records, and support the school’s commitment to excellent attendance and pupil wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the school.
Monitor and maintain accurate attendance records, contacting parents and carers regarding absences.
Support financial administration related to school dinners and pupil premium.
Communicate the importance of good attendance and punctuality to parents, pupils, and staff.
Work closely with the Lead Learning Mentor to track attendance trends and support interventions.
Manage filing systems and collate essential school data.Log safeguarding concerns related to attendance and ensure compliance with school policies.Act as a friendly and professional first point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries.
Uphold the school’s values and contribute to a positive school environment.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience using IT systems, including spreadsheets and databases.
An understanding of school attendance procedures and safeguarding responsibilities (desirable but not essential).
A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
