A Vacancy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible to provide the safest and highest quality care to patients undergoing cardiac related procedures in the cardiac catheter lab whilst, coordinating and overseeing nursing practice. He/She will be required to provide support to the Cardiac Catheter Lab Manager and deputize in their absence and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff adhering to policies and procedures that operate within the department. He/She will have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as he/she will be required to work as a member of the multi-disciplinary management team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Interventional Cardiology and Pacing with evidence of leadership skills and experience with mentoring and teaching junior staff and students. Support will be given to develop leadership and management skills with the provision of an in-house course and also externally with our partner universities.
• The purpose of the post holder is to provide clinical leadership to the nursing and other members of MDT in the cardiac catheter lab which includes acting as a team leader and expert practitioner, coordinating, guiding and advising the team in the provision of optimum patient care.
• The post holder will be able to provide and deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients undergoing elective and emergency procedures such diagnostic coronary angiogram, PCI, permanent pacemaker and other cardiac related procedures in the cardiac catheter lab.
• She/He/They will work closely with the Catheter Lab Manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice.
• She/He/They will be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of staff by acting as a mentor with the support of their senior colleagues.
• She/He/They will also be expected to work within the cardiac catheter lab as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse and will be a patient advocate during the procedure.
