Are you a marketing and communications professional with a passion for sport, community engagement, and impactful content creation?
Swim England is the national governing body for swimming, para swimming, diving, water polo, and artistic swimming. We’re on a mission to make aquatic activity accessible to everyone — from toddlers learning to float to elite athletes chasing gold.
We’re entering an exciting new chapter as an organisation with plans to grow engagement across our digital platforms and increase engagement with our core membership audiences. As our Marketing Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading proactive marketing and communications campaigns that drive engagement, retention, and growth across our membership and sport audiences.
This is your opportunity to shape the voice of Swim England’s sports, lead a talented team, and deliver campaigns that make a real difference to our members and the wider aquatic community.
What You’ll Be Doing
Oversee internal and external communications, ensuring consistency and impact.
Manage media relations, including sensitive and reactive communications.
Develop content strategies and optimise key digital customer journeys.
Lead end-to-end campaign delivery across multiple channels (social, paid, media, email, content).
Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies that support our One Swim England strategy.
Build strong relationships across the Sport Directorate and with Swim England members.
Manage budgets, agencies, and campaign performance.
About You
You don’t need to be able to swim to work with us, but a passion for the role that sport and physical activity can play in society would be advantageous!
In order to be shortlisted for the next stage in the process you must demonstrate within your application and covering letter your experience of the key areas of responsibility as well as how you meet the essential criteria listed below:
Essential
Proven experience delivering successful, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Excellent copywriting and storytelling abilities.
Experience managing agencies and media relations.
Data-savvy with a track record of using insights to drive performance.
A collaborative, proactive, and flexible approach to work.
Experience leading and developing teams.
Comfortable working across the full marketing mix.
Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends for events.
Desirable
Experience in not-for-profit or membership-based organisations
Knowledge of swimming or the sport/leisure sector.

Please note, this role is Sport Park based (Loughborough University) with an expectation that you will be in Sport Park at least 3 days per week.
