Job Title: HR Officer
Location: Redditch
Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum
About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Officer to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on role providing day-to-day administrative support to both the Human Resources and Payroll departments, while also contributing to wider HR activities and projects.
You'll play a key role in maintaining HR systems, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring compliance across a range of HR functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise employees and managers on HR and Payroll-related matters (e.g. absence, disciplinaries, grievances, maternity, performance, and more)
• Maintain the HR, Payroll, and T&A integrated system (Civica)
• Prepare and issue employment documentation including contracts, offer letters, job descriptions, and leaver paperwork
• Coordinate recruitment administration and liaise with agencies, including arranging interviews and onboarding
• Organise temporary labour for manufacturing operations including inductions and uniform
• Deliver and manage the induction process for all new starters
• Carry out right-to-work checks and ensure compliance with onboarding policies
• Provide admin support for Occupational Health referrals and maintain accurate records
• Schedule training and administer training records
• Maintain employee records for both permanent and temporary staff
• Support the review of HR policies, handbooks, and contracts in line with legislation
• Assist in arranging employee events and internal communications
• Facilitate drug and alcohol testing where required
• Support Japanese employees and resolve queries
• Provide ad hoc support to H&S including note-taking, internal contact lists, and DSE assessments
• General administrative tasks as assigned by management
What We're Looking For:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and highly organised
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems (Civica experience is a plus)
• Strong interpersonal skills - confident liaising with staff at all levels
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop further within HR
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications & Requirements:
• CIPD Level 5 qualified or currently working towards it
• Ideally educated to degree level
• Full UK Driving Licence
