MS Therapy Centre (Tayside) is a self-help, self-funding charitable organisation, supporting of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis who are dedicated to improving life with MS. The Centre was established as a Charity in Peddie Street, Dundee in 1982.

People affected by MS and many with other conditions attend the Centre for Oxygen Treatment and other complementary therapies. We take a great pride in the fact that members are offered local access to a wide choice of support, allowing them the opportunity to manage their personal symptoms.

10 hours per week – Saturday ( up to 6 hours) and one evening per week (Monday) (between 5-8pm) but this may vary depending on demands/annual leave

As a relief operator, you must be available to work additional/alternative hours Monday to Saturday, to cover periods of annual leave and absence of other staff

No previous experience of the provision of Baromatic Oxygen Therapy is required as full training will be provided, however due to some physical aspects of the role you must be physically able to manoeuvre wheelchairs in and out of the Oxygen chamber and in the Centre.

Able to work as part of a small team, have a kind and welcoming attitude, a sense of humour is a must, and be sensitive to the needs of others.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for you join our small team on a permanent contract (there will be a 3 month probationary period) within the role of Relief Chamber Operator where you will help our members, some of whom are in wheelchairs or have limited mobility, into and out of our Oxygen chamber and run sessions from a control panel situated next to the chamber.

You will operate the oxygen chamber in the delivery of oxygen treatment ensuring that all treatments run smoothly. You will also be involved in booking appointments, completing attendance notes and telling people about the benefits of the treatment.

A key part of the role is to talk to members and their carers and provide support during sessions. You will need to reassure and communicate with our members.

It is essential that you are an individual who shows compassion and care for others, whilst having a sense of humour and good team working. Our members are at the heart of what we do.

This role will involve physical aspects therefore you are required to be physically able to provide support and assistance to our members with mobility needs to gain entry and exit of the chamber.
