Person Specification Qualifications Essential Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent. Health Professional Council - License to Practice Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists Desirable Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses up to Master's degree equivalent. Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups. Experience Essential Relevant experience and undergraduate/post-graduate level Substantial relevant experience post qualification, including demonstrable experience working as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist In-depth experience within specialist area Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Essential Well established knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to the specialist client group In-depth knowledge of national policies and procedures (relevant to the specialist client group) In-depth knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions (relevant to the client group) and an ability to compare and contrast relative benefits. In-depth knowledge of the principles of clinical governance/audit. Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group) Knowledge of standards of record keeping. Excellent interpersonal skills - including observation, listening, and empathy skills. Demonstrates excellent analytical and reflection skills. Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise Desirable Demonstrates ability to be a good team member and develop leadership responsibilities. Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.
