Summary
We have vacancies at Prospect Park Hospital on the following Wards:
• Bluebell & Snowdrop - acute wards for adults with mental health difficulties, Bluebell is female only.
• Sorrell Ward - dedicated ward for Psychiatric Intensive Care
• Place of Safety - a calm, supportive space for patients detained under sections 135 or 136 of the Mental Health Act during severe mental health crises

Are you are newly qualified and looking for your first role? Our Preceptorship programme is designed to support your development into the mental health in-patients staff nurse role with a bespoke induction week, monthly supervision & training sessions and comprehensive on-going support.
Our wards work closely with patients, families and wider organisations to help them to identify their needs and participate actively in their care, providing a place of empathy, kindness and compassion. We've created a culture where everyone has a voice, where service users and staff collaborate for positive change.
You’ll work on a rotating shift pattern, including evenings, nights, and weekends—giving you variety and the opportunity to be part of a team that supports our service around the clock.

• You will be clinically responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of effective nursing care on a Mental Health ward. You will liaise with other Professional Teams and with those providing support services.
• Occasionally as part of your professional development plan, take charge of the ward under the supervision of more senior qualified nursing staff member/colleague.
• You will ensure that the clinical, environmental and social needs of the patient are met by assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care, seeking guidance and direction from senior nursing staff working in the unit where necessary.
• To be the best you can be, you’ll access our professional clinical and leadership development to ensure you are up to date, feel confident and develop as a nurse and leader, and manage and supervise a team of junior staff.

The 3/4 “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
1. Registered Mental Health Nurse
2. Previous experience working in a mental health care setting.
3. Good oral and written communication skills.
4. Understanding of Mental Health legislation, which includes MHA, MCA and DOLs.
