Job Title: Purchasing Administrator
Location: Redditch B98
Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm Mon-Thurs - Fri 7:30am - 1:30pm
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Purchasing Administrator to join a fast-paced, dynamic team within a well-established manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and organisational skills who has experience or an interest in purchasing and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to the purchasing team
• Raise and progress purchase orders from requisitions for both office and shop floor needs
• Support the warehouse team in resolving delivery issues
• Liaise with the accounts department to address invoice queries
• Compile reports on stock shortages, overdue orders, and spending levels
• Identify production shortages using system-generated reports
• Follow up directly with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries aligned with production schedules
• Update delivery information on internal systems and escalate concerns to the Purchasing Manager and senior production team
• Monitor and report on fluctuations in stock demand
• Generate weekly and monthly supplier KPI reports for the Purchasing Manager
• Communicate with key suppliers regarding delivery timelines, quality issues, and invoice discrepancies
• Suggest improvements to purchasing processes and report them to the Buyers/Purchasing Manager
• Flag any production-related issues to the relevant purchasing and production team members
Candidate Requirements:
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
• Good working knowledge of SAP (desirable but not essential)
• Understanding of purchasing functions - prior experience in a purchasing or similar role is desirable
• Familiarity with quality processes and procedures (desirable but not essential)
• Ability to manage and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
