The Commercial Directorate is a strategic and enabling function that supports all DHSC’s commercial interactions with suppliers, other third parties and ministers in delivering their agenda. Our mission is to ensure that health and care policy is implemented at best value for the taxpayer.
We do this by leading and overseeing the department’s direct commercial activity, implementing commercial policies across DHSC and its arm's length bodies, and acting as advisors to the Secretary of State and Ministers.

As part of this team, you will be responsible for leading change and sharing your passion and knowledge with others. You’ll champion best practice, support the implementation of the National Procurement Policy Statement, and embed mission-led government principles to align commercial strategy with broader health priorities.
With experience in managing and leading workstreams, we are looking for commercial specialists who will (but not excluded to):
• Lead policy implementation across commercial operational processes and champion best practice
• Provide technical support to commercial teams in relation to procurement policy and legislation
• Develop and deliver training sessions and presentation

You may be eligible for a market pay supplement of either £4,000 if you are a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (fully qualified) or £1,500 if you hold CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or above (part qualified). You will be required to provide evidence of qualification.
