The manager advises senior leaders and governors; facilitates the contribution of colleagues and partners; develops the careers programme; organises and delivers resources and secures high standards of information advice and guidance. A key aspect includes developing links with outside agencies, providers, business and employers to enhance the curriculum for students.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the campus and further contribute to the life chances of young people in the school and across the Trust.

Main duties and responsibilities

• To implement a strategic plan which guides the policies, plans, targets and practice.
• Strategically plan to ensure all statutory Gatsby benchmarks are met; this includes working coherently with curriculum, pastoral and senior leaders to ensure careers are visible within all areas of the campus.
• To provide careers advice, guidance and support at key transition points within the campus, including post-school choices to support students to achieve their goals - this includes:
• Advising students how to source relevant training courses or qualifications; what funding is available
• Provide advice on CV, applications, job hunting and interview techniques
• Running small group sessions or larger presentations on all aspects of careers work and topics relating to personal development
• Supporting students applications to HE extension opportunities, such as Oxbridge Residential Open days; placements; summer schools; Raising Aspirations Programme; university visits; UCAS advice and guidance.

• Oversee the work of the Work Placement / Experience Coordinator to organise, promote and coordinate work experience and work placements - ensuring that health and safety requirements for work experience placements and other relevant regulations are in place and adhered to - including the completion and recording of necessary checks and risk assessments, and being responsible for the coordination of regular checks.
• Generate and deliver career enrichment opportunities and raise aspirations across campus by establishing and proactively developing links with industry and business and external partners, in order to provide students with access to exciting and challenging opportunities, through work placements, visits and lectures.
• Coordinate a calendared programme of career events for the campus, and accompany students on educational visits/trips as required; and host visits from a range of employers and speakers.
• Participate in the activities and events within the campus calendar when required, for example, open days, examinations results days, meetings with parents to promote the work of careers on the campus, and provide information, support and guidance as required.
• Represent the schools at training events, conferences and careers events promoting the work of the individual schools and programmes of study to other institutions.
• Develop and promote the Alumni Project.
• Undertake and ensure that all administrative duties, checks, documentation, reports and returns (internal and external) are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines, such as monitoring, recording and communicating leaver destinations information to relevant bodies.
