We are proud to be supporting a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Rotherham, currently seeking a Year 1 Teacher to cover a maternity leave. This part-time role (Thursday and Friday) offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on pupil progress at a key stage in their learning journey.
We're looking for a dedicated and passionate educator with a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum, ideally with recent experience teaching in Year 1. You'll play a vital role in preparing pupils for their phonics screening.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to the Year 1 curriculum
- Supporting pupils in preparation for end of KS1 assessments and phonics screening
- Creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence
- Working collaboratively with KS1 colleagues and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, identifying and addressing learning gaps
- Supporting pupils with SEN needs to ensure every child thrives
- Maintaining a positive learning culture and high standards of classroom behaviour
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1
- Strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and end-of-key-stage expectations
- Experience with phonics delivery and early assessment strategies
- A nurturing and proactive teaching style, with a passion for pupil development
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment for all learners
