A Vacancy at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust.


This is a new and exciting role for an experienced nurse who enjoys looking after children, teenagers and young adults.The clinical nurse specialist role will deliver and coordinate expert care for those children, teenagers and young adults (up to the age of 24 years) who are referred and diagnosed with cancer. The role will act as a key worker to patients and families. They will develop education and training of other staff and students as well as managing their own case load of patients with these complex conditions that require specialist assessment and treatment.

They will liaise with other oncology and orthopaedic centres to ensure a smooth pathway for these patients.

They will co-ordinate the care between chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

They will liaise with the Community Nursing team.

They will provide support and information for patients undergoing investigations for a likely cancer diagnosis.

They will act as support for patients when in hospital having surgical procedures.

Support patients and families when coming to Outpatient appointments.
