The way the sapling is shaped determines how the tree grows.
Nurture, support, teaching and learning, resilience and guidance.
- Do you want to break away from mainstream education?
- Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of young people giving them the skills to live independent lives?
- Do you want to work in an environment where work life balance isn’t just talked about it’s a reality?
As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Nurture Teacher to join our team at Somerset School part of the Cambian Group.
About the role
Our next phase of development is the establishment of a Nurture Learning Centre.
We require a Nurture Teacher who, as part of a small team, will be delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning across the curriculum areas within the Nurture Centre. They will constantly strive to produce outstanding/good teaching and learning at all times to ensure that all learners succeed.
We are looking to recruit a nurturing teacher with a strong pedagogical understanding of how to support pupils to develop positive relationships, self-confidence, resilience, and creativity. We wish to appoint a kind-hearted primary teacher, with an outstanding understanding of how to re-engage pupils with learning, manage challenging behaviour and believes in the power of play.
The pupils’ interests, the National Curriculum and the Boxall Profile, will inform the learning through play you plan and deliver. We actively promote a holistic and trauma informed approach to support our pupils, obtain meaningful outcomes, raise achievement levels and improve self-esteem.
Are you a dedicated, creative and experienced Primary teacher who can inspire pupils to achieve their full potential?
We understand that teachers may be apprehensive about teaching in a specialist provision, we would encourage you to read our latest Ofsted report and visit us.
Cambian is an Equal Opportunities Employer. Cambian is committed to Safeguarding and protecting the young people and service users within our care. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
Cambian will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
