This role covers the local Reading area only and includes a company van, a monthly tool allowance, and opportunities for additional earnings through overtime and call-outs.

About the role:
Carry out roofing, bricklaying and associated repairs works in a safe and effective manner using schedule of rates and working to the Council’s Pay and Productivity scheme.
Including but not limited to, tiling, slate roofing, sheet roofing felt and single ply membranes, flashings and soakers, guttering, brick and blockwork, above and below ground, single and cavity skin, drainage repairs and clearance, paths slabs screeds and paving, excavating and clearance of debris, demolition and temporary support.
We are looking for a trade operative that is skilled, motivated and keen to work in a fast moving and constantly evolving Public Sector.
They will be:
Able to conduct works, in a safe and effective manner using schedule of rates and working to the Councils Pay and Productivity scheme.
Assisting other trades within the property maintenance service with Reactive day to day repairs for Reading and Wokingham, but also Voids and Planned Maintenance when required.
Managing van stock and assess works to ensure the right materials and time to complete a first-time fix.
Working closely with colleagues, managers and other departments to produce efficient polite and professional service for our customers.
A good communicator with building knowledge as well as other basic skills and be able to demonstrate relevant experience within the construction industry.
Working in accordance with current codes of safe working practice, current legislation and Health and Safety at Work Act including CDM regulations. Health and Safety responsibility at Level 1.
Ability to work alone on own initiative with support from the team
T. competent. Each job is managed though a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), Mostly tablet devices. This includes job management, van stock, requesting annual leave, Health and Safety and property information.
The majority of the work will be in and around tenanted properties, care must always be exercised to avoid damage to occupants’ property. All tenants/customers and colleagues will be always treated with courtesy and respect.
