Civil Drainage Design Engineer
£35,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Sevenoaks, Kent

A leading UK multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Drainage Engineer to join their civil engineering team of six at their Kent office in Sevenoaks. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth of infrastructure and development design services, working on a diverse portfolio of committed projects across the property, transport, and energy sectors. Key areas of work include major commercial, residential, and highway schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare highway and drainage designs in accordance with UK design standards, managing multiple projects and ensuring delivery to agreed timescales.
- Work on a variety of schemes, including large-scale logistics developments in the commercial sector and residential projects from pre-planning through to construction. Experience in highways, external works, flood risk, and drainage design across all project stages is essential.
- Produce designs suitable for incorporation into BIM Level 2, with the capability to undertake 3D coordination with design teams and issue internal design work in IFC or similar formats aligned with site grid systems.
- Manage projects where appropriate, attend meetings, and liaise with clients, design teams, and third-party stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong report-writing skills, particularly in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies, specifications, and related documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
- A minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience, with an ambition to achieve
- Experience in the private sector, with a strong working knowledge of Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, AutoTrack (vehicle swept path analysis), and Navisworks.
- Experience in PDS line and sign design would be advantageous.
- A flexible, proactive, and collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
