The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Quality Frontline Manager (FLM) to be based in Salmesbury and will lead the micro, phys-chem, and sensory lab teams. This role ensures the site meets all legislative and corporate quality standards, delivering safe and consistent products to consumers, providing reliable data for process control and improvement, and promoting a strong quality culture across all levels. The position follows standard office hours, Monday to Friday, and involves direct leadership of a team of 13 lab technicians across various shifts. The FLM will work closely with the Quality Specialist and report to the Quality Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and motivate a team of laboratory technicians, assistants, and sample room staff

Provide coaching and guidance to operational teams on quality-related matters

Ensure analytical equipment is properly maintained and calibrated

Serve as a key point of contact between departments

Maintain and enhance the accuracy and reliability of analytical results

Take initiative in troubleshooting issues and supporting continuous improvement projects

Conduct audits focused on quality, food hygiene, safety, and environmental standards

Maintain and develop safe systems of work

Ensure compliance with company quality policies both within the quality team and across the site

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and support cross-training for quality-related tasks

Experience

In-depth knowledge of laboratory processes and best operational practices

Experience with quality management systems and problem-solving methodologies

Understanding of brewery processes (preferred)

Proven experience in leading a team

Strong leadership, coaching, and development skills

Ability to influence peers and foster effective cross-functional collaboration
