Your role and responsibilities
As an HR Data Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR service and wider organisation through data and reporting to help steer organisational decisions and deliver critical insights.
Day to day tasks may include:
- taking a lead role in the creation and maintenance of the People Managers Dashboard through Power BI
- generating both regular and ad-hoc reports on various workforce data, at times with tight deadlines
- gathering, analysing and interpreting data to deliver data-driven insights to the HR Leadership team, broader HR service and other stakeholders in Suffolk County Council (SCC) including senior levels
- helping to maintain HR data to ensure accuracy and reliability
- researching and presenting information in a wide variety of forms appropriate to the audience and purpose.
You will need
- proven experience in using Power BI
- strong knowledge of Microsoft Office functions, in particular Excel
- excellent verbal and written skills to convey varied and complex data analysis and information to a range of audiences
- confidence to challenge views and influence others, including senior levels
- excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work to achieve deadlines.

The team
Reporting into the HR Advice, Support and Payroll Lead, the Support Team are an integral part of the overall HR service within the Corporate Services Directorate.
As a member of the HR Support Team, you will report directly to the HR Support Team Manager, who leads the team of HR Support Advisors providing the front door HR service, delivering high quality, customer focused support and guidance through the HR Helpdesk, DBS / employment checks and administrative services.
This role supports hybrid working. It involves a balanced mix of working from home and the office. Specifically, you will be required to work in the office at least two days per week, with our team office days being Mondays and Tuesdays.
