KGS is a modern, vibrant school of around 850 pupils with a catchment area which covers Kirkwall, the East Mainland, Orphir and the North and South Isles.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is committed to improvement and excellence. You will be able to build positive relationships with young people and support them effectively to make progress and achieve their potential.
The Design and Technical Department offers Graphic Communication and Engineering Science to Advanced Higher level alongside Practical Woodworking, Practical Metalworking, Fashion and Textiles and Creative Thinking. Alongside colleagues in Home Economics, who offer Practical Cookery, there are a wide range of experiences for both pupils and teachers across the faculty.
You will be able to teach all aspects of the relevant subject across all stages and will be keen to develop links beyond school to support young people in applying their skills within the world of work.

Salary will be based on the Main Grade Scale of the SNCT Salary Tables plus a Distant Islands Allowance. We offer a generous relocation package.
