Your new company
Our client is a large multidisciplinary who provide a range of services to support clients in meeting ecological and environmental requirements across the UK.
They are seeking a collaborative and motivated Ecologist to join their expanding team in the North of England. In this role you will be working on a wide variety of high-profile and purpose-driven projects across the UK, with the autonomy and flexibility to complete your best work - whether from home, on-site, or alongside colleagues.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Leading a diverse range of habitat and protected species surveys
- Producing high-quality reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and management plans
- Providing planning, mitigation, and licencing advice to clients
- Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to team development
- Working with purpose-led clients across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and development
- Driving innovation in biodiversity net gain, nature-based solutions, and ecological strategy
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in ecological consultancy
- Strong field skills, with expertise in protected species identification and mitigation
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication skills, both in-house and with clients.
- Experience preparing fee proposals.
- Experience undertaking risk assessments.
- Experience managing simple projects.
- Be able to manage and analyse data.
- Experience using GIS Mapping.
