Family Help Practitioner School Attendance
Grade: 3A, £31,586 - £34,314 (full time equivalent only, actual salary would be based on the working hours and arrangement agreed with the school)
Working hours: Up to 36 hours per week. Hours agreed with the school that the Family Practitioner is based in we are happy to term time only working. Due to the nature of the roles, annual leave should be taken during school holidays wherever possible.
Contract type: Fixed term until 31st July 2026

An exciting opportunity for a dedicated, experienced individual to join a team of Family Help Practitioners to improve attendance of secondary aged pupils across the city.
Too many pupils in Years 7-11 miss out on a significant number of days of school. This team will provide targeted, holistic support to pupils and their families across 7 Salford high schools to improve attendance and support children and young people to achieve their potential.
Our Family Help Practitioners work with children and families across secondary school provision providing targeted support, supporting families to achieve positive outcomes. The Family Help Practitioner role is based in school.
The role is crucial in supporting families particularly those with multiple complex needs, you will be supporting families using an asset-based relational practice approach, enabling and empowering families to make sustained changes, thus improving outcomes for children and families in Salford.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
