A full-time opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated individual to join our Therapy Service. The post is part of the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Therapy Services Team based in the Therapy & Rehabilitation Department at University College Hospital.
This is a permanent post and is not designed to be part of a pathway into a career in Therapies; applicants will need to demonstrate a long-term commitment to the role of Rehabilitation Assistant and the Therapy Team at UCH.
The successful candidate will work across Therapy Outpatients and includes both administrative tasks and working directly with patients either in a group or on a one-to-one basis. They will be highly organised, show effective communication skills and be comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with varying levels of health and/or disability. It is essential that you are computer literate as part of the role involves recording activity on Trust IT systems, ordering equipment online, booking appointments and providing general admin support to the therapists and administration team.
There is regular supervision and in-service training, alongside a supportive learning environment. Your development will be supported via a competency framework.

• The post holder will work without direct supervision from qualified staff, within MSK , under taking tasks delegated by qualified staff.
• The post holder will manage and take responsibility for a defined caseload providing assessment, treatment and advice to individuals, referred by consultants, within agreed guidelines and protocols under the authorisation of a therapist.
• The post holder will be responsible for both clinical and administrative support to qualified staff.
• The post holder will show initiative, motivation and excellent organisational ability to work closely with therapy staff to develop administrative support and systems for the wider therapy team.
• The post-holder will be flexible in their approach to work and provides cover for other Therapy assistants and instructors across the service in periods of leave or absence
• The post holder will be required to demonstrate time management & prioritisation skills
• The post holder be required to work with their team on service development and quality assurance projects
