Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support - PRU Setting - Islington
Long Term Futures are working with a supportive and well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Islington to appoint a confident and committed Teaching Assistant with a strong interest in behaviour support.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students across KS3 and KS4 who require additional support with emotional regulation and engagement in education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support across a range of curriculum subjects
* Assist with lesson delivery, classroom management, and transitions throughout the school day
* Build positive, consistent relationships with students who present SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
* Collaborate with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to implement individual behaviour and support plans
* Monitor student behaviour and progress, contributing to reviews and planning sessions
* Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment both inside and outside of lessons
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting secondary-age students, ideally in a PRU, AP or behaviour-focused setting
* A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to behaviour management
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with hard-to-reach learners
* Additional qualifications in behaviour, youth work, safeguarding or SEN (desirable)
* A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
Location & Transport - Islington, London (N1):
* Well-connected via Angel and Highbury & Islington stations
* Served by bus routes: 4, 19, 38, 56, 341
* Easily commutable from Camden, Hackney, and surrounding boroughs
