Are you passionate about new technology and innovative solutions? So are we! The Specialist Services lab within the Finance Platform supports the Group's Corporate Affairs and Legal & Secretariat functions to maximise their productivity through optimised technology.

We're looking for a Technical Application Specialist to join our high performing and ambitious team, to help us drive our tech modernisation agenda. The ideal candidate will be an experienced specialist capable of handling complex projects and mentoring junior team members and have demonstrable experience in 3rd party software as a service environments, a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

What you'll do…

  • Leading complex technical deliveries within Legal & Secretariat and Group Corporate Affairs

  • Developing and implementing best practices and standards, including adherence to Your Change Framework methodology

  • Collaborating with other departments to align specialist work with broader objectives, such as security compliance.

  • Leading proof-of-concept initiatives and pilot projects

  • Inputting into risk processes and conforming with SOX and ITIL processes.

  • Developing product / system specifications while designing testing procedures and standards.

  • Developing underlying security procedures and monitoring their implementation.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies

  • Using your diagnostic skills, you'll analyse technical information from a range of sources, providing highly effective solutions and strategies for improving both service and processes in complex environments.

What you'll need…

  • Hands-on experience developing complex third-party system designs to meet business needs, optimising techniques and methodologies to improve business processes across the Groups' technology architecture and infrastructure.

  • A growth mindset and an inherent curiosity, investing in personal development opportunities to maximise domain knowledge.

  • Understanding of development lifecycles and how various practices can be used, including when to apply agile vs. traditional methodologies to achieve the best outcome and applying appropriate engineering practices in own projects with limited supervision.

  • Ability to investigate, manage or escalate an issue utilising own experience, creativity and knowledge of the business and processes. Providing expert consultation on critical technical decisions.

  • Confidence to challenge existing processes, being an early adopter of change and viewing advancements in technology as opportunities to help us deliver for our customers.

  • Strong personal identify, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of colleagues, using keen influencing skills to bring them on the journey with you.

  • You'll be proactive, balancing your workload and competing priorities, identifying next steps whilst helping gather support within senior management.

And any experience of these would be really useful…

  • Technical understanding of Single Sign on

  • Working with the Microsoft Power Platform suite

  • Understanding and knowledge of test automation
