Job Title: Community Development Worker

Location: Mablethorpe

Contract: Fixed Term (18 Months)

Salary: FTE £25,000

Hours: Part time (0.7FTE)

About Linkage: Linkage Community Trust is dedicated to supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Our day services provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where individuals can develop skills, build relationships, and participate in meaningful activities.

About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Development Worker to join our team and a develop a lively and engaging offer of evening and weekend activities that integrates the people we support in Linkage within the wider community . The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating community development initiatives that enhance the quality of life for people with learning disabilities, and autistic people. This role involves working closely with individuals, families, and community partners to foster social inclusion, empowerment, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with the People We Support: Build strong relationships with individuals attending the day service to understand their needs, aspirations, and challenges.
Develop and Implement Programs: Design and deliver programs and activities that promote social, educational, and recreational opportunities for service users.
Community Outreach: Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community groups to create opportunities for service users to participate in community life.
Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of service users within the community and with relevant authorities.
Facilitate Workshops and Events: Organise and lead workshops, events, and meetings that encourage community participation and social cohesion.
Resource Management: Identify and secure funding and resources to support community development projects.
Monitor and Evaluate: Track the progress of community initiatives and prepare reports to evaluate their impact and effectiveness.
Support Volunteers: Coordinate and support volunteers and interns involved in community projects.
About You:

Education: Hold relevant qualifications in social care, community development, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in community development, social care, or a similar role.
Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attributes: Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
