Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement clinical strategies that align with the hospice's mission and goals. Lead on the key strategic initiatives. Contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes of the hospice. Continue to evolve services based on user feedback and emerging healthcare trends. Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical services, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Manage the clinical services budget, ensuring resources are used effectively and efficiently. Ensure the hospice is correctly registered and develop, guide, implement, and monitor all processes to satisfy legislative requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Quality Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within clinical teams. Monitor and evaluate clinical performance against key performance indicators. Oversee the analysis of clinical data and production of reports. Address complex ethical dilemmas related to end-of-life care, providing guidance and support to clinical teams in making informed and compassionate decisions. Ensure the hospice is working within the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. Regulatory Compliance: Be the CQC Nominated Individual for the hospice, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and other relevant legislation. Provide leadership and management of the CQC Registered Manager. Be the Clinical Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to and staff are appropriately trained. Team Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership to clinical staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment. Lead and manage a diverse workforce through change. Innovate, inspire, and empower multi-professional staff to deliver the highest standard of care for patients and their families. Be a member of the Clinical on Call rota arrangements Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the hospice in external forums and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local healthcare providers, commissioners, and voluntary sector organisations. Champion end-of-life care and collaborative working across the wider system. Encourage access to hospice services with a strong focus on addressing health inequalities, ensuring that underserviced communities receive equitable care and support. Financial Management: Manage the clinical services budget, ensuring resources are used effectively and efficiently. Monitor financial performance and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Contribute to development of income generation strategy and plans. Clinical Education and Research: Oversee the Clinical Education and Research teams, ensuring that staff are supported in their professional development and that research initiatives align with the hospice's strategic goals. Promote and support audit and research activities that enhance clinical services.
