Job Title: HLTA SEMH Lead

Location: South Gloucestershire

Start Date: September

Salary: £110 - £130 per day

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join a fantatstic secondary school in South Glos as a dynamic Learning Support team as HLTA SEMH Lead. In this vital role, you will work closely with the SENCo, Inclusion Team, and pastoral leaders to provide guidance and support to students in the schools Well-Being Centre. You will develop, deliver, monitor, and review a range of interventions to help students build resilience and improve their mental health.

This key role, within a supportive, experienced, and well-established team, is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact on young people.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead SEMH interventions and targeted small group work


  • Provide direct support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4


  • Work closely with classroom teachers to share strategies and best practices for managing SEMH needs


  • Collaborate with external agencies and parents/carers as part of the wider support network


  • Monitor and track student progress, contributing to personalised support plans


  • Support reintegration of students following exclusions or absences


    The successful HLTA SEMH Lead will have:

    • Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs in a secondary school or similar setting


    • HLTA status or equivalent; Level 3 qualification or above


    • Strong communication and behaviour management skills


    • A proactive, adaptable approach to working with students with complex needs


    • Team-Teach, MAPA, or similar training (desirable but not essential)
