A Vacancy at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking to work nights only? Join our Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Service Community Night Nursing team!
As a community night nurse, you will be delivering face to face care to adults who have been referred to the team by patients and their relatives/carers or Health Care professionals.
We will be looking for you to provide autonomous nursing care with a HCA, so you are always part of a supportive and collaborative unit. You will help to promote and sustain independence/wellbeing for the individual or carer in the relevant setting. Experience of working in an autonomous setting / role would be desirable but not essential.
You will drive the IUCS vehicles across Dorset, as you will be working in the community, residential or healthcare environment. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that is made up of Nurses, Paramedics and GP's. Professional development and career progression opportunities available.
The Night Nursing role is a full-time position of 20.00 to 08.00 up to 4 nights per week. We would also welcome part-time applications of a minimum of 2 nights per week / 23 hours per week. We can discuss rota patterns at interview stage. A full valid UK driving license is essential.
If you are interested in moving to Dorset, we also offer a generous relocation package of up to £10,000. For further details on relocation expenses please email dhc.careers@nhs.net
Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
Responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the practitioner’s professional activities and the dedicated shift lead as needed. Being part of the Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service visiting team, responsible for direct care of patients in their own homes, includes supporting patients requiring Palliative care.
Support the team with managerial/clerical duties within the St Leonards hub as required, which includes telephone triage with patients, relatives and health care professionals. Experience of undertaking personal development reviews for junior staff.
Ensure that medical instructions are understood, adhered to and recorded and that all equipment provided is maintained in good order. Our service comes equipped with lease cars with driving shared in your pairing. The vehicles are stocked with essential nursing equipment, which may be required when visiting including catheters, wound dressings, palliative care stock.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service will need to present a valid DBS certificate.
