Key Responsibilities
In this Humanities Lecturer role, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching across Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Politics to a range of learners and levels.
- Taking responsibility for student progress, assessment, pastoral care, and classroom discipline under the guidance of the Head of Department.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress regularly to ensure high standards of academic achievement.
- Making full use of departmental and institutional resources to enhance learning and teaching.
- Encouraging and valuing student work through various forms of recognition, such as display, publication, and prompt feedback.
- Collaborating with departmental colleagues to contribute to resource development and curriculum planning.
Skills & Experience
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK and an Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or registered on the update service.
- A UK-recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent) is essential.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant humanities subject (e.g., Religious Studies, Philosophy, Politics).
- Familiarity with contemporary teaching techniques and curriculum developments.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality teaching in one or more of the listed subject areas.
