What is the role?
At our residential care home in Aberavon, we pride ourselves on delivering tailored care that respects the individuality of each resident. Our compassionate and highly trained staff work closely with residents to ensure their personal needs, preferences, and wishes are at the heart of everything we do.
Our home is a warm and vibrant community of 60 residents, each with their own personality and support needs, including individuals living with dementia.
As a Care Worker, you’ll take a person-centred approach, supporting our residents to live life to the fullest. Your role is all about promoting independence, enhancing everyday skills, providing emotional and personal care, and—most importantly—bringing joy to each day.

What your role will include:
Administering medication
Supporting with cooking and household tasks
Helping individuals access the community and attend local groups
Encouraging and participating in hobbies and activities
Providing emotional support and meaningful companionship
Promoting fun and independence through engaging activities
Supporting individuals with budgeting and financial independence
Helping with personal care in a respectful and dignified way
Taking residents out and about — a full driving licence is a plus!
Maintaining a clean, welcoming environment through shared duties
Communicating effectively and working collaboratively as part of a team
Keeping accurate, high-quality records and documentation
Bringing fresh ideas to the table and embracing new ways of working
Above all, supporting each person based on their unique needs and goals
What skills and experience do you need?
A background of working with older people with dementia is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are;
A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player

What are the pay and benefits?
Hourly rate of £12.75
Wakeful night rate - £12.15 + 20%
26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
