Working hours Post 1 - Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:00, Friday 08:00 – 15:30

Working hours Post 2 - Monday – Thursday 12:00 – 20:00, Friday 12:00 – 19:30

The University of Northampton is looking to appoint 2 Facility Service Operatives to provide day to day support with the preparation of buildings/facilities in line with staff and student requirements to meet the Service Level Agreement.

You will;

Liaise with specialist teaching areas and technicians to support all room resets/layout changes.
Report to the Helpdesk, any observed defects or maintenance items.
Assist with the receipt, unloading, storage or delivery of all University post and resources delivered from the Resource Centre.
Complete all jobs raised by the Helpdesk in a prompt and efficient manner, and within priority timescales specified in the Service Level Agreement.
Support all office moves including the movement of furniture and equipment.
Set out classrooms as required by timetables and layout specifications.
Assist in the cleaning of buildings and grounds, especially in the vicinity of entrances, as directed by the Facilities Supervisor.
Set up conference, lecture and event facilities as required.
Assist with the periodical deep cleaning programme as required.
We are an accredited Living Wage Foundation Employer and currently pay the real living wage, which is currently £24,309 per annum. In recognition of this, the starting salary for this post has been increased to pay this higher amount which currently supersedes the actual Grade 2 salary before living wage.

About you

You will;

Have a full UK driving licence.
Be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills to a standard appropriate to post
Be able to work accurately and safely.
Have experience in completion of work in accordance with approved codes of practice and legislative compliance.
Have experience of working in occupied buildings understanding not to cause disruption.
Have experience in meeting deadlines.
Have experience in housekeeping tasks.
Be smart phone/tablet literate.

You will become part of the Estates and Campus Services team, working for University of Northampton Enterprises Limited.
