Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Court of Protection Officer (Grade 6) to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to safeguarding the interests of individuals who lack the capacity to make decisions for themselves due to mental or physical impairments. As a Court of Protection Officer, you will be responsible for administering and overseeing cases that come under the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection, ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of vulnerable individuals. You will liaise with legal representatives, care providers, and families to facilitate effective communication and resolution of matters concerning health and welfare as well as financial affairs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and decision-making skills, as well as a thorough understanding of the relevant legal frameworks. Building support and trust with various stakeholders is essential, and you will also provide guidance and support to other professionals in navigating complex cases. Responsibilities
Assess and evaluate applications submitted to the Court of Protection.
Prepare reports and case documentation for court proceedings.
Liaise with social services, healthcare professionals, and legal representatives regarding cases.
Attend court hearings and provide expert testimony when required.
Advocate for the best interests of individuals under the Court's protection.
Maintain accurate and secure records related to court cases and decisions.
Monitor the implementation of court orders and provide ongoing support to involved parties.
Requirements
Proven experience working within the legal field, particularly in areas related to capacity and welfare.
Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and related legal frameworks.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail.
Ability to remain impartial and provide balanced advice and recommendations.
Experience in case management and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams.
A relevant degree or professional qualification in law, social work, or a related field.
Hours Per Week: 35.00

End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £18.10
