Year 2 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant (TA) - Primary School, Rothwell area of Leeds (Full-Time)
Do you have a genuine passion and commitment for supporting children with SEN and do you have experience working with children with Autism (ASC)?
At Trust Education, we are looking for an individual committed and experienced supporting SEN to work as an SEN TA to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism in a primary school based in the Rothwell area. This full-time, starting in September 2025 on a 1:1 basis. The SEN TA role will provide you with a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference to a child's education. To nurture and help them thrive and reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment. This role is initially offered on a supply basis through Trust Education to monitor the engagement and success of the pupil's progress. If successful, the position may lead to a more permanent opportunity.
Your key responsibilities will include on a daily basis to:
• Provide 1:1 support to a child with ASC in Year 2.
• Create and implement personalised learning strategies.
• Promote the pupil's engagement in all lessons.
• Build a positive and meaningful relationship with the child and support their emotional and social development.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and report on the pupil's progress and suggest alternative ideas as you learn motivators to enhance their education journey.
• Adapt learning resources to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
• Support the pupil during break times, lunch, and other school activities as required.
About You:
• Previous experience of supporting children with SEN, particularly autism, in a school setting or similar.
• Passionate about working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
• Confident in using behaviour management strategies and providing emotional support.
• Patient, empathetic, and understanding, with a commitment to enhancing the learning experience for children with SEN.
